We’re local and we like to support local groups doing awesome things to make our little corner of the world a better place. Call it civic pride or mountain spirit, but we think it’s the right thing to do. When you choose an independent, small business like ours, you not only enjoy a more personal experience, you’re helping build community, strengthen our local economy, create jobs, and shape Western North Carolina’s character.

Diamond Brand Outdoors and Frugal Backpacker are proud to be stewards of the resources in our communities and happy to support qualified, federal tax-exempt 501c3 organizations. Because resources are limited, we do not provide donations or sponsorships to individuals, scholarship funds, political causes, campaigns or candidates, programs that are not located within 45 miles of one of our stores, or organizations that do not have a focus on outdoor recreation.
Total includes cash and in-kind donations. It does not include sponsorships of for-profit events or events in which only a portion of the proceeds are donated to nonprofit organizations, nor does it include discounts or coupons for members of local land conservancies, scouts, outdoor groups or clubs, or members of the military.
