Each month, we donate 10% of a day’s sales to support a local nonprofit’s work. Shop on Tuesday, April 17, to support LEAF Community Arts’ Easel Rider Mobile Arts Lab, part of LEAF Schools + Streets. The Easel Rider will even be at the store from 11:00-1:00 with free interactive hands-on arts activities.
In July 2013, Asheville Parks & Recreation partnered with LEAF to continue and expand the Easel Rider programming. LEAF hires teaching artists that bring the Easel Rider to after-school programs, community functions, specific school activities, outdoor activities, and summer camps, reaching approximately 4,500 youth a year. In 2017, Harmony Motors gifted the LEAF Easel Rider team with a Sprinter van to help meet the demand for the Mobile Art Lab in more cities across the state and region.
Call it civic pride or mountain spirit, but we think supporting the work of those maintaining trails, cleaning waterways, connecting youth to outdoors, and doing other awesome things to keep WNC a place we can all enjoy…well, it’s the right thing to do. As the area’s first outdoor store, we’ve enjoyed the support of our friends and neighbors since 1964.
