Each month, we donate 10% of a day’s sales to support a local nonprofit’s work. Shop on Tuesday, May 15, to support Conserving Carolina.
Conserving Carolina works with businesses, individuals, communities, partner organizations, and government agencies to preserve water and land resources in Western North Carolina. Conserving Carolina uses a mix of financial incentives along with the goodwill of conservation-minded landowners to preserve land from development. Significant conservation projects include the Worlds Edge Property at Chimney Rock State Park, Green River Preserve, Florence Nature Preserve, Lewis Creek Nature Preserve, and Headwaters State Forest.
The organization was created in September 2017, from a merger of two previously-separate organizations, Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy and Pacolet Area Conservancy.
Call it civic pride or mountain spirit, but we think supporting the work of those maintaining trails, cleaning waterways, connecting youth to outdoors, and doing other awesome things to keep WNC a place we can all enjoy…well, it’s the right thing to do. As the area’s first outdoor store, we’ve enjoyed the support of our friends and neighbors since 1964.
