Ensuring equal opportunities and access to education for all students is central to the mission of the Asheville City Schools Foundation (ACSF). Raising financial support for scholarships, funding of after-school enrichment, emergency assistance for families, and teacher grants programs from a broad spectrum of supporters is essential to its success. ACSF believes that public education is a vital part of a successful democracy and a key element in breaking the cycle of poverty. Supporting excellence and innovation in teaching can ensure the success of every student. These outcomes are only achieved when parents and the community are engaged in schools, therefore ACSF strives to involve community voices and apply community resources in local schools.
Call it civic pride or mountain spirit, but we think supporting the work of those maintaining trails, cleaning waterways, connecting youth to outdoors, and doing other awesome things to keep WNC a place we can all enjoy…well, it’s the right thing to do. As the area’s first outdoor store, we’ve enjoyed the support of our friends and neighbors since 1964.
