At Diamond Brand Outdoors, the store manager’s role is to run a store successfully. Working on the shop floor, you are in constant contact with your customers and staff. You are responsible for ensuring their staff give great customer service as well as monitoring the financial performance of the store.

We’re looking for someone who is interested and capable of developing strategies to raise our customers’ pool, expand store traffic, and optimize profitability; meeting sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to sales staff; and ensuring high levels of customers satisfaction through excellent service.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participates with senior management in setting sales goals, payroll budgets, and KPI goals
  • Leads in exceptional customer service to exceed customers expectations
  • Recruits: Interviews, hires, trains, disciplines, and terminates all staff who report to them
  • Conducts performance reviews in a timely manner according to company policy
  • Communicates to staff and drives sales, payroll, and KPI goals set for their store
  • Maintains a 1.5% or less in shrink for the store
  • Assures staffing meets peak sales
  • Merchandising meets Diamond Brand Outdoors standards in a timely and seasonally appropriate manner
  • Provides data driven product information to the merchant team
  • Keeps store clean and safe
  • Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with all Diamond Brand Outdoors policies
  • Represents Diamond Brand Outdoors in a positive image and is a leader in the community
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education Requirements

  • Associate degree or above
  • Four (4) years of experience in a retail environment
  • Two (2) years of experience in a store management position
  • Experience with and knowledge of outdoor gear and activities

Physical/Mental Requirements

  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds on a sporadic basis
  • Ability to operate a computer and cash register competently
  • Ability to understand and process inventory analysis
